Teague, Myra Kalloch, WARREN [ME] -- Myra Kalloch Teague, 107 died at a Camden Nursing Home Sunday [8/21/1983] after a long illness.  She was the wife of William Teague.  She was born Jan. 5, 1876, the daughter of Lawrence and Martha Burgess Kalloch.  She was a graduate of Hebron Academy.  She was a housemother at the academy for many years.  She was the oldest living resident of Warren.  She was a member of the Second Congregational Church of Warren.  She is survived by two cousins, Roger Kalloch of Honolulu and Miss Betty Bagg of Thomaston.  Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Davis Funeral Home in Thomaston.  The Rev. Wesley Woodman will officiate.  Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery Warren.  There will be no visiting hours.  Friends are requested, in lieu of flowers, to donate to their favorite charity.  (The Courier-Gazette, Aug. 23, 1983).

Thurston, Florence E., UNION [ME] -- Miss. Florence E. Thurston, 84, died Tuesday [8/27/1968] at a Rockland hospital.  She was born at Union, April 18, 1884, a daughter of Joseph D. and Jenny Kalloch Thurston.  Miss Thurston was a lifelong resident of this town, and was a member of the People's Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star, both of Union.  She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Helen K. Robbins of Waldoboro, Mrs. George Mansfield of South Haven, Mich., Mrs. Merrill Henderson of White River Junction, Vt.; several nephews.  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.  Friday from the People's Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles D. Kenney officiating.  Interment will be in the Union Common Cemetery.

Tobey, Susan K., EAST MACHIAS -- Last Sabbath afternoon the remains of Miss Susan K. Tobey, who died recently in Brookline, Mass., were laid to rest in the Tobey lot in E. M. Cemetery.  A beautiful and appropriate committal service was read by Rev. Paul Weller of the Universalist church at Machias.  Miss Tobey was the last member of her immediate family, her half-sister, Mrs. Susie Ames Furber, having died a short time ago.  Her parents were Dr. William H. and Mary G. Tobby, and the late John K. and Martin V. B. Ames of Machias and Mrs. Josiah Harris of this town were her half-brothers and half-sisters.  For many years she has resided in Massachusetts, but has kept in touch with home friends and with former students of Washington Academy, her alma mater.  Those who knew Miss Tobey will long remember her as a woman of sterling character, one who bore bravely and cheerfully the limitations of life.  (Photo page).

Todd, Edward & Barbara, NEWBURYPORT [MA] -- Graveside services will be held Saturday for Dr. Edward Payson Todd, who died May 25, and for his wife, Barbara Wright Todd, who died Feb. 14, 2002.  Dr. Todd, 83, a resident of Falls Church. Va., from 1964 to 1998, died at the Forum Retirement Community In Houston, Texas.  Born in Newburyport, he graduated from Newburyport High School in 1938.  In 1942 he received a bachelors degree in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, entering Immediately into the U.S. Army Signal Corps where he served in Scotland, France, and Belgium during World War II.  In 1946, her was honorably discharged with the rank of major.  In 1950, Dr. Todd married the former Barbara Adams Wright of Rockport.  Dr. Todd received his doctorate in atmospheric physics from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1954.  After employment with Pitney-Bowes and continued post-doctoral research, Dr. Todd was employed by the National Science Foundation in Washington, D.C., rising to become deputy assistant director of research.  He retired as director of Polar Programs, including the United States Antarctic Research Program, in 1984.  Upon his retirement, Mount Todd in Antarctica was named for him.  Dr. Todd was active in his community Including serving three terms as a member of the Falls Church School Board.  In 1988, the Todds moved to the Westminster Retirement Community in Woodbridge, Va.  Throughout his life, Dr. Todd pursued an active Interest in antique tools and their restoration, sailing and the current state of research in atmospheric physics, and the Antarctic.

Mrs. Todd was born In Springfield.  She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees In physics from Mount Holyoke College.  She worked as a research physicist for corporations in Massachusetts and finished her career at the University of Colorado.  Her experience included a year spent in the late 1940’s living and working as a furniture maker’s assistant In Taos, N.M.  Her volunteer activities include being den mother superior for the Falls Church Cub Scouts and a library assistant at Falls Church public schools.  She was a  member of the Fairfax-Falls Church community Services Board, serving two years as chairman; vice chairman of the Virginia Association of Community Services Boards; co-chairman of the Coalition of Mentally Disabled  Citizens of Virginia; Board of Directors Mental Health Association; Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services.  She was a member of the Sigma XI Society, Alliance of the Mentally Ill of Northern Virginia and the Association of Mentally Retarded Citizens of Northern Virginia.  Throughout her life, Mrs. Todd followed active interests in genealogy, travel and advocacy for the mentally disabled.  Dr. and Mrs. Todd are survived by sons Glendon G. Todd of Woodland Park, Colo., Nathaniel Todd of Arlington, Va., and Charles Payson Todd, and wife, Christi Cassling Todd, and grandson Nathaniel Payson Todd all of Houston, and sister-in-law, Gloria J. Todd of Medford.  Mrs. Todd is also survived by a brother, Windsor D. Wright of New Hampshire.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 19, at 1 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newburyport.  Arrangements are by Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Funeral Home, 35 Green St. Newburyport.  (The Daily News, Newburyport, Mass., Tuesday, July 15, 2003).

Trahan, Jewell A., GREECE, NEW YORK - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Greece, NY, for Jewell A. Trahan, 65, who passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011 at her home in Greece, NY.  Jewell was a native of Maurice, and has been a resident of Greece, NY for the past six years. She graduated from Maurice High School and then went on to become a respected practical nurse who worked in New York and Louisiana at various hospitals, and clinics for many years.  Jewell loved to golf, fish, tend her garden, and spend time with her friends either watching movies or listening to Cajun music. She will be missed by her friends and family.  Jewell was preceded in death by her parents, Irene LeBert Trahan and Woodley Trahan; brother Rene Patrick Trahan; nephew Lex Trahan; and niece Dawn Richard.  Survivors include: close friend and companion, Mary Kaiser; one daughter, Donna Pr?jean-Kalloch of Lafayette, her husband, Lieutenant-Colonel Aaron E. Kalloch of Machias, Maine; one granddaughter, Julia Elise Bonaventure; one grandson, Nathaniel Alexandre Kalloch; two sisters, Gloria Trahan of Lafayette, and Beulah T. Vezinat of Mamou; four brothers, Perlis J. Trahan of Lake Ontario, NY, Percy P. "Blackie" Trahan, Wilbur J. "Bay" Trahan, both of Lafayette, and Nason A. Trahan of Maurice. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  One-third of Jewell's ashes will be spread at her favorite fishing hole in the Adirondacks, one-third will be entered in NY, and one-third will be entered in Maurice during a service in Maurice which is currently planned for the summer of 2011.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Visiting Nurse Services Hospice, who cared for Jewell in such a wonderful manner in her time of need: 2180 Empire Blvd., Webster, NY 14580.  (The Advertiser, April 19, 2011).  (Photo from obituary).
