Emma Eliza Galbreath
1867 - 1940

Emma's mother, Roseltha (Butler), was the second wife of John C. Galbreath.  While she was the only child of this union, Emma had 3 1/2 sisters, and 2 1/2 brothers from her father's first marriage.  My grandfather's favorite story was that he told his sisters, "She's the girl I'll marry" the first time he saw Emma in church.  And he did.  They had 5 children.  One died at age 1 yr.  Most of their life was spent in Park Falls, Wis. but moved to Oregon in the early 30's.  Emma's failing health precipitated her husbands retirement from the lumber business.  They settled on a family farm near Three Rivers, Michigan.  She died March, 1940.  (Written by Emma's granddaughter, Mary Tollefson).
