The 69th [71st*]
annual reunion of the Kalloch family was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur D. Kalloch, High Street, Thomaston, Wednesday with 60 present.
After the dinner hour, the meeting was called to order by the president,
Edward Kalloch Gould of Rockland, with the singing of America. These
officers were reelected to serve for the ensuing year: President Edward K.
Gould; Vice presidents, Daniel Keller of Rockport, Everett Kalloch of South
Thomaston, James Kellogg of Cambridge, Mass, Mrs. Lillian Joyce of Rockland,
Mrs. Ella Robinson of St. George, Robert Simmons of Rockland, and John R.
Kalloch of Hatfield, Mass.; Secretary and treasurer, Arthur D. Kalloch of
Thomaston.
Mr. E. K. Gould of Rockland, Mrs. Mabel Rollins of Somerville, Mass., and
Miss Cora Murdough of Waltham, Mass., were chosen a nominating committee.
Arthur D. Kalloch, Miss Edith Watts of Lynn, and Miss Mary Kalloch of Warren
a committee on location, and Mrs. Mabel Rollins of Somerville and Mrs.
Arthur D. Kalloch, entertainment committee.
Remarks on the Colonial and present history of the Kalloch family were made
by Edward J. Kalloch and Miss Mary Kalloch of Warren and Mrs. Mabel Rollins
of Somerville, a demonstration on the making of fire by flint on steel as in
Colonial days was given by E. B. Rollins, of Somerville; a song, "Was your
mother Irish?" was sung by Miss Elizabeth Kenniston and Miss Mary Ludwig and
remarks were made by John Kalloch of Hatfield.
It was voted to hold the reunion next year at Grange Hall in Glen Cove.
Among the 60 persons who attended the oldest was Edward J. Kalloch, 89, and
youngest was Patricia Whitchell of Rockland.
