125th Kalloch Reunion Minutes - 1992

(Transcribed from the original handwritten copy.  Birthdates were intentionally blocked for the three children listed.)

The 125th Kalloch Family Reunion was held on August 22, 1992 at the Samoset Resort Hotel in Rockland, ME.  There were 213 in attendance.

The oldest person in attendance was Herbert Kalloch, age 97.  The 3 youngest in attendance were Samantha Pauline Bove, born x-xx-92; Chandler Taft Kalloch, born x-xx-92; and Kevin Vertudazo Kalloch, born x-xx-92.  The longest married was Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Gross, 63 years, with just Mr. Gross in attendance due to the fact that Mrs. Gross (Glennys Kalloch) is in a convalescent home.  All 5 of their children were in attendance as were many of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The longest traveled who were in attendance: The Douglas Avery Family from Fremont, Calif.; Katherine Olsen from Sun City, Calif.; The Dwight Dow Family from the state of Washington; and the Steven Keller Family of Arizona.

Because this 125th anniversary was so special, and so much else was going on, we called a brief meeting to order from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  There was no treasurer's report or minutes of last year's meeting read.  There were new officers voted on unanimously:

President: Dolores McCarthy
Secretary: Victoria Levesque
Chaplain: Julia Hunter

As of this writing there is no vice-president or treasurer.  Paul Merriam resigned as past treasurer with thanks, as did Anita Fernald from the post of president.  The committee members for this special extravaganza were thanked for their hard work and the great success that resulted.  They are as follows:

Anita Fernald
Dolores McCarthy
Jeanine Lawrence
Eileen Pettit
Evelyn Kalloch
Victoria Levesque
Tamarack Kalloch
Peter Richardson

Eleanor Johnson agreed to do the site tours next year.  Notification as to when and where will be in the newsletter.

At noon there was a wonderful buffet and a handsome Bagpiper in a wonderful costume playing music for us.  He also escorted us all outside where we had a group photo session.  The main speaker was Robert Skoglund of St. George, Maine, and he was extremely humorous.  His brother, Jim, explained via chart how their family, the Gilchrests, are related to the Kallochs.  Peter Richardson & Dean Mayhew updated us on the Kalloch Family history, and Nancy Kalloch Sack gave poetry readings of Edna St. Vincent Millay.  Anita Fernald sang "The Rose" after we had a group sing-a-long.

The Kalloch Family Reunion sold commemorative memorabilia such as t-shirts, mugs, buttons, hats, books, Kalloch histories & indexes, and took in $1,580.00 (less cost).

Congratulations on a great day!
