1918

The 50th [51st*] annual reunion of the Kalloch family was held at Oakland Park Wednesday, Aug. 29, 1918.  A beautiful day & a good location favored a good sized gathering.
Between 80 & 90 present.

Tables first arranged near the shore, the wind blew so strongly & so cold that we were glad to refrain to the grove where is was very pleasant & comfortable.  The tables being cleared, the president E. J. Kalloch called the company to order & the exercises were begun with singing.

Minutes of the last meeting read & accepted.

Upon acceptance of the nominating com. the following officers were elected.

President E. J. Kalloch, Warren
Sec. & Treas. Mary E. Kalloch
Vice Presidents
F. A. Kalloch, Thomaston
D. M. Kalloch, W. Rockport
H. F. Kalloch, Tenants Harbor
Everett Kalloch, S. Thomaston
L. F. Kalloch, Warren

Committee on location reported - suggesting that our next gathering be at Oakland Park. Voted - In favor of this suggestion.

The oldest person present was Mrs. Julia Smith 84 y. old. She is the mother of 13 children and has lost 2 sons in the past year. Edwin V. Smith died in November & Fred M. Smith in May.

One member, Austin Kenney reported killed in France.

Other deaths were -

Mercy Watts Hills
Dorothy Plummer 1 y old.

Remarks were made by Mrs. Hawes, Mr. John Boss of Marlboro, Mass.

In closing sang America & "God be with you till we meet again"

Adjourned to meet at Oakland Park the last Wednesday in Aug. 1919.
