The 49th [50th*]
annual reunion of the Kalloch family was held at Oakland Park Aug. 29, 1917.
Showers overtook us on our way to the Park & prevented many from coming.
Hearty greetings were exchanged by those who met.
A table was procured in the pavilion and about 35 gathered around the board
at the noon hour. The blessing was asked by Rev. Maurice Dunbar of Turner.
Justice having been done to the eatables, the family still tarried at the
table & spent a very pleasant & interesting hour. The president E. J.
Kalloch, presiding.
The Secretary, Miss Jennie Moody was absent. A heavy wave of sorrow came
when word was received of the sudden death, the day before of her mother,
Mrs. Lillias Moody of Thomaston.
Mary E. Kalloch was a appointed Sec. pro. tem.
Minutes of last meeting were read.
Nominating Com. reported - recommending same board of officers as last year.
Voted in favor of same.

Voted - To instruct our clerk pro tem to write a letter of condolence to
Miss Jennie Moody.
Remarks were made by the President, also by Rev. Maurice Dunbar of who was
with us for the first time, and brought greetings from his mother Mrs. Emily
Kalloch Dunbar. Dea. H. F. Kalloch followed & reported a Kalloch reunion
held in Presque isle a short time before at which 10 Kalloch's were
assembled & extended greetings to our gathering.
We were also glad to hear from Mr. Barnes of Camden, Mrs. Barnes, Mrs. Geo.
Wing, Nivan Kalloch of Warren, & Mrs. Cross of Waldo.
The president read items from two letters giving us information of the
Kalloch Coat of Arms. Sec. made some remarks on same.
It was voted that the President use what means he can to secure information
of our early ancestors, and also the secure if possible the family Coat of
Arms, now owned by a son of Hance Kalloch, living in Portland.
Adjourned to meet at Oakland Park the last Wednesday in Aug. 1918.
