Tracing of Elizabeth C. Killough's ancestry possibly begins with John Killough, b. 1741, son of Samuel Ezekial Killough. After 1793, John and wife moved through Tenn. to Livingston Co., Ky. Only two sons are known, Allen and James. James had three
known sons. They lived in Livingston Co., Kentucky, and Carroll Co., Tennessee, in a time period that could have included Elizabeth as a member of those families of unknown children of John or his son James. Elizabeth's husband's family lived in
Kentucky at one time and Pope Co., Ill. for many years. Pope Co. is directly across the Ohio River from Livingston Co., Kentucky. These particular Killough families and the Joshua Scott families could have known one another at some point.
