Notes for Wilbur LaFayette (Hirsch) Killough

Because he was raised by his maternal grandmother, he carried her name, Hirsch, all his life as did his descendants. He worked in a carnival/traveling show when he was young and had his own show with his wife and/or daughters. He may have started out
in this business with his in-laws, the Richards. Twelve children, most if not all of which were born in Pipe Creek, Bandera Co., TX (NW of San Antonio). The house he built is still standing and lived in now by a relative. He was a carpenter and
stone mason. The youngest children were raised by the older ones because their mother died young. Resided near Marlin, Falls Co., TX, where his siblings Marie, Grace and "Jack" also lived. Birth order of children 3 through 10 is unknown.
