Notes for William Madison Killough


He apparently left Illinois shortly after the death of Ellen. The four children were placed in foster homes. He sold his farm in Owen County, IN, in 1864 and, after the Civil War, went to Marion Co., IL, to farm. He was a private in Co. A, 149th
Reg., Indiana Inf., JAN 1865 until discharge in Huntsville, AL, 16 MAY 1865. Calidona, who was left with the five small children, received a Civil War pension commencing shortly after his death. Nine ch.: Mary E., John W., Cora E., Nora A., William
