Notes for Isaac Killough

The ancestor of the Rutherford Co., Tenn., Division of the OLD SOUTH BRANCH of the family. He and his wife Mary moved to North Carolina where they lived from 1762 to 1764 when they deeded their farm to John Armstrong. They lived on the south side of
the Catawba River in Mecklenburg Co., NC. From 1763 to 1786 Isaac lived in Chester Co., SC (formerly called Mecklenburg Co., NC). They moved to Georgia where he lived from 1787 until his death in 1795. He owned property in various parts of Wilkes
County. Apparently he farmed all his life and, in his mature years, signed himself "The Planter."
