Carol Layne Becker 8/6/1934 X 1/15/2009 OGDEN X Our beloved mother, grandmother (Nannie), great-grandmother and friend passed away peacefully in her home on Jan. 15, 2009. Carol was born in Ogden, UT on August 6, 1934-the youngest child to Arnell P. and Edna Lavon Winn Layne. She was also raised by her step-father George Vaughn. She was raised in Ogden and attended Ogden H.S. Carol had four beautiful children-Jeff Garn, Kevin Garn, Michelle Martin and Robbie Freewald. She was able to travel and see the world which she loved. She especially loved the Ocean. She also loved spending her time with friends and family making each relationship very special. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. She had a kind and loving heart. She loved to play jokes and make people laugh. She loved to go to lunch, take long drives, shop, decorate, watch movies and talk on the phone with her friends and family. Carol was the one her friends and family would call to get great advice or if we just needed a laugh. She was the heart of the family and will be deeply and sorely missed by her family and all who knew her. She leaves behind her loving companion, Rich Becker, her four children, Jeff (Laurie), Kevin (Tanya), Michelle, Robbie (Jill) and all her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a very good friend, Tony Lazano along with some of her childhood luncheon friends. One of CarolXs greatest joys were her three schnaurerXs who always kept her in great company. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Loudeane, Coleen, Donna, Newell, Melba and Delbart. Also a son-in-law JC Martin. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 19, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the LindquistXs Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service.
