The 60th [62nd*]
annual reunion of the Kalloch family was held at the home of Mr. & Mrs. A.
D. Kalloch Aug. 28, 1929 with 62 persons present. The blessing was asked by
Deacon H. F. Kalloch and after a bountiful dinner the business meeting took
place, Pres. E. J. Kalloch presiding. The record of the last meeting was
read and approved, the old board of officers were elected to serve the
ensuing year and it was voted to hold the reunion for the next year at the
home of Mr. & Mrs. A. D. Kalloch again.
The oldest person present was H. F. Kalloch, 87, and closely following him
was John Kellar 86. The youngest person present was Hartland Small,
Thomaston.
The one coming from the longest distance was Colby Kalloch and his family,
New York City.
Speeches were made by E. J. Kalloch, H. F. Kalloch and Daniel Kalloch.
Miss Edith Watts read an article which was printed in The Courier Gazette in
1877, relative to the Kalloch reunion, and a poem written by Lermon Kalloch
in 1878.
H. F. Kalloch made a few remarks relative to the first Kalloch reunion which
was held 62 years ago.
A vote of thanks was given to Mrs. Seth Brown for procuring a Coat of Arms
of the Kalloch family and also to Mr. & Mrs. A. D. Kalloch, host and
hostess.
It was then voted to adjourn.
